Our Story

Welcome to Kocoroco Handcrafted Coffee Roasters!

This is how our Kocoroco journey began. Kocoroco stands for KO COffee ROasting COmpany. We are a small, family-owned business that began out of our love for coffee, community, and God.

In 2019, our family started a non-profit organization called Simplicity Mission. This non-profit was created to help homeless and at-risk communities by serving delicious home-cooked meals through our food truck. Through this small act of kindness, we were able to bring a little joy, comfort, and hope to those who were going through a difficult time.

Of course, along with those meals, we served a fresh cup of coffee! It started out small. We brewed a few batches at home and filled our coffee percolators to serve people while we were out on the streets. This was good but we knew we could do better. We always try our best to serve the most delicious meals we can make, so we also wanted to serve the best cup of coffee as well. We grew to having a volunteer coffee team that would set up a table at outreach events to serve pour-over coffee to hundreds of people. This was awesome! As people patiently waited to receive their free cup of coffee, we had the chance to talk to them and hear their stories. We were creating relationships and we loved it. This eventually led us to roasting our own beans so that we could serve the freshest, most delicious cup of coffee to those who were used to receiving the leftovers. We knew that this is what Jesus would do if he had his own coffee shop!

On the bottom of each bag of coffee it says, “Let your life be a pleasing aroma to God.” There is nothing more wonderful than smelling the sweet fragrance of a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. It brings joy and hope for a new day. We want to be people whose lives are like a fresh cup of coffee, bringing joy and hope to people and to God. Every month, a portion of our proceeds will be donated to Simplicity Mission. So, we hope you love our coffee beans because each bag you buy will allow us to help someone in need!
